My first experience in the neonatal area.
Introduction
My experience during my hospital practice in the neonatal area was completely new and beautiful. Even though I had already completed other clinical practices, I felt as if it were my very first day. I was very nervous, but at the same time, I felt a strong sense of happiness and curiosity to enter that area, observe, and learn. I tried to stay focused and calm, reminding myself that everything would go well.
Description of Activities
While I was in the neonatal unit, the nurse explained in detail the activities we would be doing. As it was my first time there, I felt very nervous and anxious. I started by taking vital signs, writing nursing notes, and providing information to mothers about positions that can help speed up dilation. My colleagues also gave talks on nutrition, breastfeeding, and other related topics. However, what excited me the most and made me feel very happy was witnessing my first birth. Despite my great joy, I also felt nervous. We provided constant emotional support to the mother during labor, reassuring her that everything would be alright. I felt a deep emotion seeing the mother happily holding her baby.
Reflection
At the end of this experience, I learned a lot and felt very happy. I became more confident with time and really enjoyed working with the mothers and babies. It was a beautiful experience that motivated me to keep learning.
Conclusion
It was a great experience. I learned a lot and I feel motivated to continue.
