My First Nursing Practice Two Years Ago

Introduction

My first nursing practice happened two years ago at a community clinic near my town. It was the first time I entered a real healthcare environment as a student. I felt nervous because I did not know what to expect, but I was also excited to learn new things. The nurses welcomed me kindly and explained the rules of the clinic.

Activity.

First, I observed how the staff organized patient files and prepared the consultation rooms. After that, I helped clean the beds and arranged medical supplies such as gloves, masks, and syringes. Then, one nurse taught me how to measure temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate. I practiced carefully while the nurse supervised me.

Later, I accompanied a nurse while she attended several patients. I noticed how she spoke calmly and respectfully to everyone. She listened carefully and answered their questions with patience. This taught me that communication is very important in nursing because patients need trust and comfort.

Reflection

During that day, I also learned the importance of hygiene and responsibility. We washed our hands before and after every patient, used clean materials, and followed safety procedures. At first, I was afraid of making mistakes; however, the nurses encouraged me and helped me feel more confident.

This experience changed the way I saw the nursing profession. I understood that nursing is not only giving medicine or taking vital signs. It is also caring for people with empathy, respect, and dedication.

 conclusion

my first nursing practice two years ago was a memorable experience. I learned practical skills, improved my confidence, and felt proud to begin my training. That day confirmed that nursing is the career I want to continue studying and practicing in the future.

  1. What I like most is how you noticed the nurse’s attitude with patients. That shows you are observing not only the tasks, but also the way to treat people.

  2. Your experience is very well expressed and shows all the learning you gained during your first nursing practices. I liked how you explain your emotions from the beginning, the nervousness you felt, and how little by little you gained more confidence. It also highlights the importance of humanized care for patients, which is something very important in our profession. Without a doubt, it was a very valuable experience for your training.
